| The physical state of a substance depends
on pressure and temperature. A triple point(Tp), a substance
is in solid, liquid and gaseous state. Above the critical point,
a substance is only in the fluid phase, a state that has the
properties of both liquids and gases(ex. Water for 374.1 OC,
220.4bar and Carbon Dioxide for 31.1 OC, 73.8bar). The supercritical
fluids which are at both side state are have the density that
of liquids and the viscosity and diffusion properties are similar
to those of gases. As those properties of the SCF should apply
for extraction, dyeing and dry cleaning process. |
